Why Fillers aren't always the first choice.

Ageing doesn’t just affect the skin, it affects every layer of the face, from bone to deep fat pads, muscle, and superficial fat pads.

Whilst it’s true that filler, when used correctly, can restore lost volume, it’s not always the first or the most appropriate option. There are other treatments that play a huge role in improving overall skin quality and achieving natural, balanced results.

My client above has had no filler. Instead, she chose a more subtle approach, focusing on treatments that support the skin and underlying structures. This included advanced anti-wrinkle treatments to relax stronger muscle activity and reduce the downward pull on the face, alongside anti-wrinkle treatments to soften fine lines and help prevent them from becoming deeper over time. She also committed to regular skin booster treatments, which work within the dermis to improve hydration, support collagen production, and enhance overall skin health, giving that natural, healthy glow.

She has been having treatments for around two years, and these results are from part way through her plan. It just shows that filler isn’t always needed if it’s not something the client wants.

That said, it’s important to be realistic. For some clients, filler will be needed to achieve certain results. But for others, especially where skin quality is good and there are minimal concerns around skin laxity, you can absolutely achieve subtle, refreshed, natural-looking results without it.

Every face is different, and that’s why treatment should always be tailored, not trend-led.

If this sounds like you and you’re unsure where to begin, you can book in for a consultation (redeemable against treatment), and we can discuss the best options for you.
